Machines

Simple machines are used in everyday life. On example of a simple machine is door knob. A door knob would be considered a lever because you are applying force to it to make another object move. Another example would be a wheel and axle. I bet most of the people who went somewhere this morning used one of these today. A wheel and axle, in simple terms, is just a wheel and pole and the pole allows the wheel to move. My last example of a simple machine is a an inclined plane. Inclined planes can be ramps, ladders and much more. Some people have to use inclined planes everyday at work in order to do certain tasks; Like painting. The Rube Goldberg machine that we made in class almost didn’t work on the second trial. Although it did work on the first trial, which is really good. I believe that if we had more time to make it that we could’ve made sure that it worked flawlessly for every attempt. In the Rube Goldberg machine, we used inclined planes, pulleys, and fulcrums, which is the part of a seesaw that’s in the middle.
